This Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) explains how Policy Review Center (“Policy Review Center,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, discloses, retains, and protects personal information about consumers who visit our website at policyreviewcenter.com (the “Site”), contact us, request a quote, or otherwise use our services (collectively, the “Services”). Policy Review Center is a free insurance comparison and referral service. We are not an insurance agency, insurer, or licensed producer; we connect consumers with independent, licensed insurance agents. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any single insurer or any government agency.
This Policy is written to honor the privacy rights available to residents of every U.S. state. Where a specific state grants you rights beyond those described generally, the state-specific section below controls for residents of that state. By using the Site or the Services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Policy. If you do not agree with it, please do not use the Site or the Services.
1. Scope of this Policy
This Policy applies to personal information we collect through the Site, by telephone, by text message, by email, and through our advertising and marketing activities. This Policy does not apply to: (a) information collected by third parties, including insurers, licensed agents, and other partners who may contact you or to whom we connect you, each of whom maintains its own privacy practices; (b) information collected on any website or service that does not link to this Policy; or (c) information that is aggregated or de-identified so that it can no longer reasonably be associated with you. We encourage you to review the privacy notices of any insurer or agent you engage with.
2. Categories of personal information we collect
Over the past twelve months, we have collected the following categories of personal information, depending on how you interact with us. Not every category is collected from every consumer.
Identifiers
Real name, alias, postal address, ZIP code, telephone number, email address, IP address, online identifiers, and similar identifiers. Collected directly from you and automatically through the Site.
Customer records information
Name, signature, telephone number, address, and insurance-related information you provide when you request a quote or speak with an agent. Some of this information may overlap with categories protected under state or federal law.
Protected classification characteristics
Age or date of birth, and gender, where you provide them so that a licensed agent can quote accurate rates.
Commercial information
Records of products or services you have requested or expressed interest in, and consumer histories or tendencies related to insurance shopping.
Internet or other electronic network activity
Browsing history, search history, pages viewed, links clicked, referring and exit pages, and information about your interaction with the Site and our advertisements, collected through cookies, pixels, and similar technologies.
Geolocation data
General location inferred from your IP address or the ZIP code you provide. We do not collect precise GPS location.
Audio and electronic information
Recordings of telephone calls with our representatives, where you have been notified and where permitted by law, for quality assurance and training.
Inferences
Inferences drawn from the above to create a profile reflecting your potential insurance needs and preferences.
Sensitive personal information
Depending on what you choose to share, we may collect a limited amount of information treated as “sensitive” under certain state laws, such as data that reveals your interest in insurance related to health or final expenses. We collect sensitive information only as needed to provide the Services and use it only for purposes permitted by law. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for the purpose of inferring characteristics about you, and we do not sell the sensitive personal information of Maryland residents.
3. Sources of personal information
- Directly from you, when you complete a form, call us, text us, email us, or otherwise communicate with us.
- Automatically, through cookies, pixels, log files, and similar technologies when you use the Site.
- From service providers, such as our hosting, analytics, call-handling, and marketing vendors.
- From advertising platforms on which we advertise (such as Google and Microsoft), which provide us campaign measurement and performance data.
- From insurers and licensed agents with whom we work, to maintain accuracy and provide the Services.
- From publicly available sources and data providers, where permitted by law.
4. How we use personal information

- To process and follow up on your request for a quote or for information about coverage, including by telephone, text message, and email.
- To connect you with licensed agents and insurers who can compare options and help you apply.
- To communicate with you, including service, transactional, and, where permitted, marketing communications.
- To personalize and improve the Site, the Services, and our advertising.
- To measure and analyze the performance of our marketing and the Site.
- To detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, security incidents, and unlawful activity, and to protect the rights, property, and safety of Policy Review Center, our users, and others.
- To maintain records of consent and to comply with our legal, regulatory, licensing, and recordkeeping obligations.
- For any other purpose disclosed to you at the time of collection or with your consent.
5. How we disclose personal information
We disclose personal information to the categories of recipients below, in each case to provide the Services you request or as a normal part of operating our business. We do not sell your personal information for money, and we do not share your contact information with third parties for their own marketing. As is standard for insurance agencies, we may be compensated by insurers or agents when you obtain coverage; that compensation is for our services and does not involve selling your personal information.
- Insurers and licensed agents: when you request a quote or submit an application, we disclose your information to the relevant insurers and licensed agents so that they can respond to your request and contact you by telephone, text message, and email, even if your number is on a Do Not Call list.
- Service providers and processors: vendors who perform services on our behalf, such as website hosting, data storage, analytics, call handling and recording, customer support, and email and text message delivery, under contracts that limit their use of the information.
- Advertising and analytics providers: vendors that act as our service providers to operate cookies and pixels on our own website so we can measure traffic and the performance of our own advertising. They are contractually limited to processing this information on our behalf and may not use it for their own purposes.
- Affiliates: our corporate affiliates, where applicable, consistent with this Policy.
- Legal, safety, and compliance recipients: courts, regulators, and law enforcement, when required by law or legal process, or to protect rights, property, or safety.
- Business transfers: a successor or acquirer in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets.
We do not disclose your information to third parties for their own independent marketing without a lawful basis, and we do not disclose telephone numbers to third parties so that they may send you marketing text messages or place telemarketing calls on their own behalf, except to the licensed agents and insurers responding to your request as described above.
6. SMS and mobile information
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing to subcontractors in support services, such as customer service, is permitted. All other categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
Phone numbers and SMS consent collected through our quote and contact forms are used only to contact you about insurance quotes, your inquiry, and account servicing. We do not sell, rent, or share this information with third parties or lead generators for their marketing. 7. Cookies and tracking technologies
We and our service providers use cookies, web beacons, pixel tags, software development kits, local storage, and similar technologies (“cookies”) to operate and secure the Site, remember your preferences, analyze traffic and usage, and deliver and measure advertising.
- Strictly necessary cookies enable core functionality and security and cannot be turned off in our systems.
- Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve it.
- Advertising cookies let us and our advertising vendors, including Google and Microsoft, show our own ads to you on other sites based on your prior visits, and measure how our ads perform. You can opt out at any time as described below.
You can set your browser to block or delete cookies, although some parts of the Site may not function properly as a result. You can also opt out of interest-based advertising through Google Ads Settings (adssettings.google.com), the Network Advertising Initiative (optout.networkadvertising.org), and the Digital Advertising Alliance (youradchoices.com). To protect your information, we will take steps to verify your identity before fulfilling a request, which may require you to confirm information we already have on file. If an authorized agent submits a request, we may require proof of authorization and verification of your identity. We will respond within the time required by your state, generally within 45 days, with one extension of up to 45 additional days where permitted and with notice to you. We do not charge a fee to process most requests, but we may charge a reasonable fee or decline to act on requests that are excessive, repetitive, or manifestly unfounded, as permitted by law.
Appeals
If we decline to take action on your request, you may appeal through our contact form at policyreviewcenter.com/contact with the subject line “Privacy Appeal.” We will respond to your appeal within the time your state requires and will explain the reasons for our decision. If your appeal is denied, you may contact your state Attorney General to submit a complaint.
9. Do not sell or share my personal information
We do not sell your personal information for monetary consideration. Some state privacy laws define “sharing” broadly to include the use of advertising cookies for cross-context behavioral advertising on our own website. To the extent that applies, you may opt out at any time through our Your Privacy Choices page, or by enabling Global Privacy Control, which we honor automatically. This opt-out applies to website advertising cookies and does not affect the contact information you submit to request a quote, which we use only to fulfill your request. 10. State-specific privacy disclosures
California (CCPA, as amended by the CPRA)
California residents have the rights to know, access, correct, delete, and obtain a portable copy of their personal information; to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information; and to limit the use and disclosure of sensitive personal information. We provide a “Your Privacy Choices” link and honor GPC. The categories of personal information we collect are described in Section 2 above. We do not sell personal information for monetary consideration. We use advertising and analytics cookies on our own website, which may be considered “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law; you may opt out through our Your Privacy Choices page and we honor Global Privacy Control. We disclose the contact information you submit to the licensed agents and insurers who respond to your request, solely to fulfill that request. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information beyond the purposes permitted under the CCPA, and we do not offer financial incentives in exchange for personal information. Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws
Residents of states with comprehensive consumer privacy laws (including Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, Delaware, Iowa, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Minnesota, Maryland, Indiana, Kentucky, Rhode Island, and others as their laws take effect) have the rights to access, correct, delete, obtain a copy of, and opt out of the sale of personal data, targeted advertising, and certain profiling. Most of these states require opt-in consent before we process sensitive data, and all provide a right to appeal a denied request, which you may exercise as described in Section 8. Maryland residents are subject to additional protections, including that we do not sell sensitive personal information of Maryland residents.
Nevada

Washington and consumer health data

Similar protections may apply to residents of Nevada and Connecticut.
11. Insurance information practices
In connection with insurance products, we and the licensed agents and insurers we connect you with may collect nonpublic personal financial and health information (“NPI”). The handling of NPI by those licensed agents and insurers is governed by the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act and applicable state insurance privacy regulations, and to the extent those laws apply to us as a referral service we maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards for NPI, restrict access to those who need it to provide the Services, and disclose NPI only as needed to provide the Services or as permitted or required by law. 12. Data retention
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, to provide the Services, to maintain records of consent, and to comply with our legal, regulatory, tax, accounting, and recordkeeping obligations and to resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. Records of marketing and telemarketing consent are retained for the period required by applicable law. When personal information is no longer needed, we delete, destroy, or de-identify it. Retention periods vary based on the type of information and the purpose for which it was collected.
13. Data security
We maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping any credentials and communications with us confidential.
14. Children’s privacy
The Site and the Services are intended for adults aged 18 and older and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and we do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16. 15. Third-party links and services
The Site may contain links to third-party websites, products, or services that are not operated by us, including those of insurers, agents, and advertising partners. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy notices before providing them with personal information.
16. Out-of-state processing
We are based in the United States and process personal information in the United States. If you access the Site from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those of your jurisdiction.
17. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technologies, legal requirements, or for other operational reasons. When we make material changes, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where required by law, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Site after the effective date of an updated Policy constitutes your acknowledgment of the changes.
